Perfect Edge, Inc, a privately owned company, was founded in 1998 with the sole purpose of providing water-jet cutting services. With nearly 25 years of combined water-jet experience, Perfect Edge has truly perfected the art of abrasive water-jet cutting to achieve the most precise requirements of any project, no matter how detailed.

Perfect Edge is located in the metro Atlanta area in Doraville, GA. The facility has over 10,000 square feet of shop floor to handle both small and large projects for a variety of industries and consumers. Some of the Perfect Edge customers include companies in the commercial signage, flooring, architectural design and metal grill work. The client base is located throughout the United States.

Perfect Edge typically provides cutting services with a one week lead time. However very large jobs may require additional time. Rush orders may be accepted with a surcharge.

THE PERFECT CHOICE FOR CUTTING NEEDS

Perfect Edge has three FLOW abrasive water jet machines. Each machine may also be setup using water only without an abrasive. These machines are integrated flying bridge machines. One machine is a Dynamic water-jet. The Dynamic water-jet has an articulating head which allows thicker materials to be cut with no taper.

The cutting surface area is 6 feet by 12 feet. Larger areas can be cut with additional set-up charges, provided a weight limit of 10,000 Lbs is not exceeded. Additionally, certain materials such as glass, acrylic, porcelains, ceramics and some plastics require a special set-up. Water only (no abrasive) cutting is used for vinyl, VCT, wood, paper and rubber. Tolerances on water only cutting are tighter, allowing for a tighter fit on inlays.

WATERJET CUTTING

Water-jet cutting by Perfect Edge offers distinct advantages over other cutting technologies.

• No heat input means no burning or heat-affected zone as with laser cutting
• Changing materials is handled by a change in cutting speed - not by changing complex process parameters such as gases or optics
• Dynamic water-jet cutting provides nearly the same accuracy as wire EDM at a fraction of the cost and speed
• Abrasive water-jet has a lower cost than milling and holes can be cut in one pass
• Abrasive water-jet cutting leaves no dross, eliminating the need for secondary operations
• Parts can be closely nested during cutting, saving time and material costs
• Water-jets can make very thin, intricate cuts. The width of the cuts is about 0.04 for abrasive water-jet cutting and 0.007 for water only cutting

A FULL COMPLEMENT OF CAD CAPABILITIES

Perfect Edge offers full Computer Aided Design services to complement the water-jet cutting process. Perfect Edge can put the customer's design idea into a format easily transferable to the water-jet software used to control the cutting process. If the desired design is not already in one of the following formats, a new drawing will be generated for a nominal charge:
